Lightshow Generator

Load music, for example the client's intro: the generator detects tempo, bars, song sections and hits and programs a light show for the fixtures in your lighting plot. Sections, colours, movement and hits can all be edited. Preview in 2D or in the 3D lighting plot, live output via sACN or Art-Net, and export as a macro for grandMA2 and grandMA3.

Download DMX bridge

Bridge version 1.1 and later outputs DMX. Download it, start it and keep the window open. Fixtures in the lighting plot need the same universe and address as on the node. Chrome or Edge recommended.

The macro creates the sequence with cues and time triggers, for the selected range only. Fixture IDs on the console must match the numbers in the lighting plot (plus offset). Try it in a test show file first.

How it works

Typical workflow for a client intro: set up the rig in the lighting plot, load the music here and choose “Intro / opener”. The generator detects tempo, sections and the key hits, starts from blackout and ends in stage light for the host. Play the preview, set more hits with H, rename sections or switch the colours to the client's brand. In the 3D view the show runs on the real rig from the lighting plot, with moving heads aiming at real points on stage and in the audience. Then output it live through the DMX bridge or take it into the grandMA as a cue list. If the lighting plot is open in a second tab, changes there arrive here instantly. In the lighting plot you can set a show role for each fixture. The macros set colours as RGB or CMY; please adjust colour wheels and special channels on the console. Your music never leaves your computer.
