Screen Size & Viewing Distance

Checks whether a screen or display is large enough for the room, based on the common 4-6-8 rule of thumb relative to image height.

4× image height: detailed content such as tables and small text. 6×: presentations. 8×: video and large images. For LED, a rough minimum viewing distance is 1 m per mm of pixel pitch.

How it works

The rule of thumb relates the distance to the last row to the image height. The smaller the text in the content, the larger the image has to be. For LED walls the minimum distance also matters, beyond which individual pixels are no longer seen as a grid.
